Comcast Is Taking Over Cable

Comcast is taking over cable on February 17, 2009. The consumers that have digital cable are going to have to either switch to Comcast or go without cable. Some channels on digital will turn dark and be hard to watch. The Comcast cable network is limiting the consumers' choices. How is this going to effect the cable networks, the consumers and the economy?

I don't think comcast will overtake every cable customer in Pueblo, Colorado. There are other cable companies like direct dish and satellite. The customers just need to do their research on what's out there before Feburary of 2009. I honestly don't think Comcast can over take the monopoly of cable companies in Pueblo.

they are just geniouses. as a company, monopoly is the ultimate goal of money making, and i think as a result of the trangision, comcast would take one more step towards becoming the next ruler of the cable industry and if they accomplish that imagine what they can do!! wow i don't even wanna begin to think about the total control of mass by one company. well we'll see about that now won't we? rather we like it or not.

I think DirectTV will have something like this to offer also. I don't think that Comcast is to the point of "total control" but its making a good attempt. I still am trying to grasp the concept of the the digital transfer that is about to occur though. I think once we get closer to that date, all sorts of deals will be flying around.
